This was my attempt for the new Salt Lake City flag that didn't make the cut.   My multifaceted design is made of 3 color fields, each part has a dual meaning. The green V-shape depicts our city nestled in a valley and also the view from the foothills. The purple and white vertical lines with pointed tops represent both the snow covered peaks of the majestic mountains and the building spires of our city skyline. The blue represents both the weather patterns from the lake effect and the Great Salt Lake itself.
